General examples
A staff member involved in a procurement exercise has financial interest in the business of a potential supplier. A candidate in a recruitment exercise is a close personal friend of the staff member sitting on the recruitment board. A company director recommends to the Board a tender bid submitted by a company owned by his relative. A staff member undertaking part-time work with a contractor whom he is responsible for monitoring.
