25 October 2021Ethics Promotion Programme for the Construction Industry With a view to consolidating the integrity awareness and anti-corruption knowledge of construction practitioners, the Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre (HKBEDC) is organising the captioned Programme under which an array of resources and training services have been launched. "Corruption Doesn't Pay - Say NO to Illegal referral fees and rebates" For frontline construction workers, we have produced a series of publicity and training materials to remind them not to offer bribes for employment. A leaflet featuring the key points of the anti-corruption law and common corruption traps was also produced. Construction companies and contractors are encouraged to make use of these resources to help disseminating the message. 06 September 2021Integrity Training Workshops for Site Supervisory Staff The Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre (HKBEDC) has launched the "Ethics Promotion Programme for Construction Industry" to enhance the integrity of construction practitioners and their understanding of anti-corruption laws. HKBEDC will organise two integrity training workshops for site supervisory of consultants/contractors. Management staff of construction companies joining the Integrity Charter are also welcome to attend. Details as follows: Session 1 Session 2 Date 29 Sep 2021 (Wed) 13 Dec 2021 (Mon) Time 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm(Registration time: 3:45 pm) 9:30 am - 10:30 am(Registration time: 9:15 am) Venue Exhibition Hall, Shatin Town Hall, 1 Yuen Wo Road, Sha Tin, N.T. Function Room, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Medium of instruction Cantonese Cantonese Deadline for enrolment 22 Sept 2021 (Wed) 6 Dec 2021 (Mon) The workshops are free of charge and seats are limited. Our experienced Centre's staff will explain the anti-corruption laws and discuss integrity and governance related issues with participants. The first two BEDC Channel webinars, "Integrity for Success" Continuing Professional Development Course for Insurance Intermediaries with Managerial Roles, have received overwhelming response. 29 January 2021Time to checkup your corporate health and work ethics level! There is no doubt that we have been more health-conscious than ever due to the pandemic. Apart from maintaining a strong physique, it is equally important for us and our companies to stay ethically healthy for guarding against corruption. The Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre (HKBEDC) has just launched two practical tools for corporations and individuals to serve as a "rapid test" on their ethics level. The Corporate Ethics Health Checklist is for corporate leaders to check their corporate ethics level by examining the company's "brain", "backbone", "heart" and "immunity system", and to diagnose the areas that need improvements. The Work Ethics Fitness Challenge, which consists of a set of scenario questions on ethical challenges at workplace, is for individual employees to assess their ethical fitness.
