Integrity Training Workshops for Site Supervisory Staff
With an aim to enhance the integrity of construction practitioners and their understanding of anti-corruption laws, the Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre (HKBEDC) will organise two integrity training workshops for site supervisory of consultants/contractors. Details as follows: Session 1 Session 2 Date 27 July 2022 (Wed) 2 November 2022 (Wed) Time 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm(Registration time: 3:30 pm) Medium of instruction Cantonese Deadline for enrolment 20 July 2022 (Wed) 26 October 2022 (Wed) The workshops are free of charge and seats are limited. Interested parties may click here to enroll. Apart from arranging the workshops, HKBEDC has also producing a series of ethics resources for the construction industry, which include a series of e-learning courses and online feature articles dedicated for construction professionals, as well as a publicity poster and publicity pamphlet with "Don't Bribe for Job" message dedicated for the frontline practitioners. Ethics Promotion Programme for the Construction Industry: An Update
In order to enhance professional ethics and integrity culture in the construction industry, HKBEDC rolled out the Ethics Promotion Programme for the Construction Industry in 2021/22. The following training resources have been produced for construction professionals in collaboration with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS): E-learning Courses An e-learning course is tailored for engineers, architects and surveyors respectively. Each course comprises a Professional Ethics Module and a Legal Compliance and Corruption Prevention module. Desktop and mobile versions are available for accessing the courses anywhere and anytime. Participants who complete the e-learning course may claim 1 CPD hour in the respective profession. Online Feature Articles The Centre also publishes online feature articles for engineers, architects and surveyors, highlighting legal controls over corruption, common ethical challenges at work, managing staff integrity and handling ethical dilemmas. Webinar for Directors and Senior Management of Publicly Listed Companies on “BEDC Channel” (Putonghua session)

Smart Tips for SMEs: Busting Corruption Myths (1)
Running a business requires profound knowledge and skills. Whether you are a novice entrepreneur or an experienced businessman, you may have been caught in corruption myths. The Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre (HKBEDC) has released a new series of "Smart Tips for SMEs" feature articles for proprietors to debunk some common corruption myths in business operations. Busting corruption myths in daily work
Customary practices and common work habits in our daily business may entail corruption risks. To help business practitioners mitigate corruption risks at work, the Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre has recently launched a dedicated webpage named Busted! 12 Myths about Corruption. The webpage contains 12 common corruption myths about advantage, business operation, staff integrity and corruption facts.
