Professional Ethics
(Higher level)

A person with a high integrity standard keeps himself away from the ‘grey areas’ though these are not prohibited by laws. Professional ethics keeps one intact in the midst of ethical storm.

Legal Requirements
(Minimum level)

It’s the basic standard required of a responsible person in a capacity.

A hallmark of professionalism

Professionalism implies ethical responsibilities because companies, clients and the public rely on practitioners’ expertise and judgement.

A basic qualifying requirement

Many professional institutes require members to commit in ethical practices. Failing to comply may lead to disciplinary sanction, e.g. suspension of professional qualification.

Uphold reputation of the profession

Professional ethics benefits the entire profession by promoting its reputation, creditability and respectability.
