The Hong
Kong Institution of Surveyor (HKIS)
is the only statutory body for qualifying
surveyors in Hong Kong. Bringing together
surveyors of different disciplines,
it works towards the common good of
the profession while ensuring that high
ethical standards are maintained. HKIS
provides the following services: |

accreditation of surveying
degrees in Hong Kong and overseas; |
|
helping members to abide
by the HKIS Rules of Conduct by organising
related education programmes, including
seminars on professional ethics arranged
in co-operation with the ICAC; |
|
handling complaints
about the improper conduct of its members
in accordance with the HKIS Bye-laws
and Rules of Conduct; |
|
organising Continuing
Professional Development (CPD) courses
for members on a regular basis, including
technical courses for different surveying
disciplines and general courses on management,
environmental concerns, legal matters,
communication skills, etc; |
|
organising meetings,
conferences and visits for the exchange
of technical information and ideas; |
|
publishing its monthly
newsletter and the technical journal,
The Hong Kong Surveyor, to keep members
up-to-date with the latest developments
in the surveying sector; and |
|
liaising with surveying
institutions worldwide to promote the
interests of surveyors in Hong Kong |
