- ○ Staff members should not use the power or authority deriving from their position to gain a personal benefit or an indirect benefit (e.g. for their relatives or other related parties).
- ○ Staff members should be alert to matters which could give rise to fraud, deception, corruption or other illegal activities. If a staff member suspects any illegal activity, he should immediately report it to an appropriate officer.
- ○ Staff members should avoid situations that may lead to or involve a conflict of interest, actual or potential.
- ● Sharon should truly reflect Kit’s financial position when she makes recommendation for the loan application.
- ● Her acceptance of Kit’s offer of recommendation for a place in the study tour will not only lead to actual conflict of interest, but also a breach of the requirements set by the regulatory body or the bank. Even worse, it may amount to the criminal offence of corruption.
